Pre-dance 3 1/2 - 5 years - An introduction to dance with the emphasis on developing motor skills, rhythm and creative movement.

Kinder-Ballet 5 - 6 years - An introduction to beginning ballet positions and steps. Promotes memory retention and performance skills.

Ballet 7 years and up - Our beginning ballet class is a combination of the Russian and Cechetti (Italian) methods. The emphasis is on learning good technique, as well as freedom of movement early on.

After a few years of study, certain students show an enthusiasm and ability to study more seriously. At this time, they may begin to study to take their ballet exam (Cechetti Method). We encourage our students to work toward this goal, however, it is not mandatory and, in some cases, not indicated.

Pointe work (or toe shoes) is another goal all female dancers work toward. The decision to place a student "en pointe" rests entirely with the teacher. Ability, age, length of time studying, and physical factors are taken into consideration.

Tap 5 years and up - An exceptionally good dance medium for strengthening coordination. While using the feet as a musical instrument, tap teaches rhythm and strengthens memory retention.

Jazz 8 years and up - A more "modern" dance medium that draws on the foundations of ballet and tap. Jazz dance utilizes the various rhythms of music combined with isolations of the body. Students with at least one year experience of ballet or tap will be accepted at 8 years of age.

Hip Hop 8 years and up (a Jazz class to accompany Hip Hop is strongly encouraged)  - Refers to the style of dance primarily danced to Hip Hop music. Hip Hop dances are often considered "street dances" because of how they were formed and are being practiced.

Lyrical 9 years and up  - The technique required for Lyrical is based on Ballet. Lyrical dance interprets the lyrics of a song . A more "modern" style of dance.
